This
should be the way you would see the building of the station of Massa Marittima
if you arrived by train ...
The building is still up an living, and have offices for the FMS.
At the same time the locomotive deposit is used (Photo below) for bus
maintenance and the yard has became a bus parking.
I omitted in my trip the section of line from the bridge on the "gora delle Ferriere" to Massa on the line since on the railbed have been arranged a foot/bike/horse-path weel signed that will be argument on a longer trip. The map show where is that path (the station is just at the upper end of map).
I put hese some view of the Massa marittima Ghirland railway station.
The station, still used for bus deposit office is in good shape.
In
the yard (picture on left) you can see the cylindrical water reservoir,
and the large building that was used to store minerals coming from nearby
mines with decauville tracks.
This
other pictures show some particulars of the Massa Marittima Station, that
architectonichally is different from the other ones in the line, that have
a "Mediterranean" style, while this is more "mountain".
